Just got back from 2 weeks (ashore) in Southern Brittany. Renewed our acquaintance with the Auberge de la Mer in Kerfany Les Pins, which was as nice and unpretentious as ever. You can anchor off the beach (and a couple of yachts had) though I'd say it was a "settled conditions only" scenario. Also discovered Chez Jacky at Port Belon (the bit of the village on the western side of the Belon river). Expensive - Menu Homard at €80 per person - but sublime; chust sublime. Cheeky little wine list as well.

On our way back home via St Malo, we ate at Le Robert Surcouf (no connection with Lt. Rene Tremblere), on the Rue de Toulouse, in the Intra Muros area. Away from the main tourist drag, and a bit of a leg from the yacht harbour, but worth the walk. Decent food and not the usual Malouine tourist rip-off trap. Don't be put off by the unprepossessing exterior or the stuffed badger (on a shelf, not on the menu). €16 or €21 menus perfectly acceptable but lobster menu for €40 if you want one final fling before climbing on the ferry. Chef worked somewhere posh (La Tour D'Argent, I think they said) before setting up shop in St M.

God, I love France.
