Just thought I would "Fly the Flag" for a UK company called Tolley Marine at Hoylake, Cheshire who build BRITISH marine engines. They are based on BRITISH built Perkins base units and fitted with BRITISH PRM gearboxes and other BRITISH components. Worth a look at and they are not painted "DEATH GREEN".

Incidently, I have no connection with Tolley Marine but just would like to see them do well.

Japan? Surely Peterborough. There's a huge Perkins engine plant there.

Who cares. As long as they are worth the Pound, Yen, Dollar or EURO (oops maybe not the later though).

Anyone an idea where English Breakfast Tea is grown? Scotland perhaps????
There sure is enough rain up there.

Just a thought.

Beeing from the country....

...building "death green" engines I must smile and cannot resist the temptation to ask:
How come it´s so important for some Englishmen to stick to British made products?

Now you think; "He´s a Swede and of course want to promote Volvo...."
Hah, got you there! I´m sailing a Moody with an Perkins engine... Very good and realible indeed!
But if I MUST complain, I would have appreciated metric nuts and bolts!

Finally, there is a saying in Sweden originating from those years when there was a British car industry and British made cars were quite popular in Sweden:
"Lucas, the man who invented darkness!"

All I know is I have an old Perkins 4-99 ..... chugs away all day and never complains ! Its economical, despite others claims ! It has never let me down yet !!!! Touch Wood !

Only thing I would like to cure .... when first starts I get a few minutes of smoky exhaust until she warms up !
