Hi all, we're planning on heading up to Bristol on Saturday from Portishead. Never been there before (on a boat) and was wondering if you have any suggestions of where to moor, eat, drink etc.
Boat is 39.5 ft LOA yacht.
We're planning on getting to Cumberland basin at 12:30 tomorrow as requested by the harbour master this morning.
Thanks

Bristol

Best place is the visitors pontoons in St Augustines reach by the Arnolfini. You proceed up the dock past the SS great Britain .turn left at the end and they are on the right hand side of the reach before you get to the footbridge. Usually some narrowboats there as well.

Other option is to use Bristol Marina. On the right half way up the dock.

Another option is to Moor alongside the wall at Baltic Wharfe near the Cottage pub but take care coming alongside as there are concrete buttresses sticking out here and there. Also care needed that your fenders dont lift onto the top of the wall if the boat rolls as a mobo wash comes in.

We are going up tomorrow.

Most likely be on the same lock

We normally moor in the inlet just opposite the SS Great Britain. But there's is only about 4' of draft from memory. Ok for us, but not for you. But its much quieter there.

Other areas already pointed out as Arnolfini and the near the cottage down near the Cumberland basin.

For food Las Iguanas in Millennium Square or Jacks.

Thanks guys, see you in the lock tomorrow ! We'll be motoring up with Trapeseartist of this parish but he's going back to Portishead on the ebb once we reach Cumberland basin.
Looks like Arolnfini is the spot for us, I've called the authorities and "booked in" .......... I think we might have a motor around and see what else is happening before mooring for the night and partaking in the pubs etc.
