I have removed some vinyl stripes off the boat. I cleaned up the remains of the glue with White Spirit and now the gel coat looks like new.
Before I put on the new vinyl's I would like to restore the surrounding area to the same 'new' look. (Presently looks duller and matt.) What products do people recommend? There seems to be to many products out there and I suspect the best may come from a non-boaty source. Any views?

partly depends how dull, and how shiny you want it. To get a good gleam i wouldnt try by hand. You can get a polisher for about £40 from toolstation.com/co.uk and some polishing sponges. The car polishers (farecla or sumit) G3 or G6 to get the shine back, and G10 if you want to go super-glow! Then some wax-that you can do by hand.
Even with a machine, its still quite alot of work.
