Can you help?

A good mate of mine would like to hire a boat for drinks in Brighton for her 50 year old hubbie,

Does any one know of such a service? or do we just hire the boat for the day?

Thanks

Tom

You could try Henry off this forum. He has a gorgeous Prinny 50 which he charters, although based on the Solent, but not really too far from Brighton.

Tom

There's the normal day charter boats fishing diving etc available but probably not what had in mind there's also a fairly new yacht chart company on the west jetty that do charter and training with 2 new nice 35 & 42ish yachts
If you can wait till the weekend will get the number and send it over

Regards

Hi there Tom

By "hire for drinks" what are you after? That sounds like the boat in a marina one evening not going out to sea but hosting an informal get together. If that's the case then I would suggest a decent sized flybridge - but then I would wouldn't I :)

Patio doors open cockpit area as well as the saloon, nice lighting, ice, canapés and so on.

If you want to go out to sea and have drinks then you will need to aim for somewhere calm. You can't really do drinks whilst underway crashing over waves, however small the waves and however large the boat. You need to get to a river or other sheltered water where you can potter at displacement speed. We use the Beaulieu river and the river Hamble.

It all depends on what your friend is after.

Henry :)
