This from Brightlingsea Harbour yesterday:

After a lengthy period of investigation, the Police can report they have a suspect in custody and expect that to be the case for the time being.
The suspect has been operating in the Brightlingsea area.
Following his arrest they discovered a great deal of stolen property, much of which they have been able to identify owners for.

There are however a number of items for which they cannot identify owners, they are:

1. Some assorted small Outboards;
a. Suzuki s
b. Yamaha
c. Grey painted marina 2
2. White GRP clinker type launch
3. White Dory
4. Garmin GPS
5. Mariner 40 outboard
6. Unipart battery

If you believe you may own any of this equipment please get in touch, we have some pictures.

Congratulations to our under resourced police force a real success story. One villain off the streets usually achieves a step reduction in crime as a very small proportion of the population commit the vast majority of crimes. Lets hope the magistrates have the gumption to send the serial offender down, rather than leaving him (or her) on the loose to steal again, putting more demands on our police.
