After a year of work we launched at Brightlingsea last weekend. No drama to report.
What a lovely place! The harbour master, boatman and hard master are all so helpful, the pub, chippy and chandlers excellent and it's a lovely setting. Shame about the marina under construction, though.
So we got the boat in. Not sailed yet due to the weather/tides. SWMBO had a look around and calmly announced that we'd probably be getting a bigger boat next year, something like a Sabre 27 with furling headsail, slab reefing, lines led back etc. and proceeded to outline the sailing abilities, layout, in fact the full spec.
This from a woman whose previous sailing experience consists of drinking wine on a couple of charter holidays in the med.
What stikes me is this; Where does this new found knowledge come from? Is it the net? If so, is she on this forum? Is she reading this?
SWMBO, you know you you are. Stand up and be counted for the sake of what is left of my sanity!
