Brest 2008 and Douardenez

Having enjoyed the Semaine du Golfe festival in the Morbihan last year I thought I'd give the Brest 2008 sailing fest a try.

The Brest 2008 web site is very informative and I registered some time ago. However, I am having trouble getting to grips with what happens at Douardenez. Apparently you can go to some kind of event at Douardenez at the end of Brest but with very limited French I have learned little from the site that was linked from the Brest Schedule.

You guys who have been to previous Brest festivals : -

Is it worth going on to Douardenez from Brest?
Do you have to register seperately?

We used to have a classic. Its a must and Douardenez is better than Brest.

There were over 20 Drascombes at the Semaine du Golfe

and there will be a strong contingent at Brest 2008.

I should love to sail there "On our own bottom" but don't have enough Brownie points for an absence that long so like most other Drascombers will be going on wheels.
