Just been ripped off at Breskins Marina, 19 euro to tie 3 ropes to a dock for a night, 75 cents for tokens to have a shower, 50 cents per KW for electricity, 3 euro for wi-fi, and to top it all after I logged on the i-phone they tell me I need another code for the PC! and guess what..............that will be another 3 euros please.....cha-ching!!!!!!!!!!!!

To put your boat in Shotley would cost you 24 Euros. The power would cost you 2.80 Euros - you could be up on that one if you used more than 5 kw.

So there isn't free wifi. That's hardly ripping you off.

You could have gone up to Sixhaven 16 Euros for 10.5M free WiFi and eletrickery thrown in plus a spot of window shopping across the canal in the evening

Doesn't sound too much different to anywhere else pricewise...

Saying that, I found Breskens a singularly dull place to spend a night.

Been to several places in holland in the last week and never paid extra for power, showers or wi-fi. Was more annoyed at having to pay double to use the laptop as well. As for mooring at Shotley, I am not in the Uk, if I was it would be the last place to moan about, there are many much more expensive marinas to moan about.

Dutch sea-facing marinas are in higher demand and charge accordingly. Supply and demand. Just a tad inland from the coast good value is to be had in numerous locations.

I have never heard foreign visitors complain when they cruise our south coast and find themselves being truly taken to the cleaners! What does this tell us?
