Could it be the bowthruster of the second, steering tug?
It was a fine piece of maneuvring with a ship on the limits of the possibilities of the canal.

Nice driving. I'll bet they blessed the bridge operator for closing it after the smaller one went through. Trying to keep something like that with still must be a challenge, even in light winds, especially with no ballast. I'd hate to try it in a bit of a blow.

Does sound like a bow thruster but I doubt the Arklow as it looks like theirs is above the waterline. Maybe a hopeful OOW? :
