Hi all,

I am shortly due to take delivery of my new boat (early Feb) and of course can't wait. What I would like to ask you all is am I mad?
The reason behind this question is I have decided not to go for the easy choice of Fairline/Sealine/used Princess/Sunseeker or any other of the UK boat manufacturers, but instead gone for a relatively unheard of (in the UK) make called Sessa. I am led to believe they are the biggest (in volume) boat builder in Italy and have over 200 outlets in Europe.

Compared to the above mentioned brit boats it is good value for money, twin Volvo Kad 43's, 35' long, fantastic interior fitted out by Riva and IMHO looks which knock the spots of it's competitors.

So am I mad choosing this against the norm?

Re: Bit late

It's bound to be fine. Resales might not be as easy, but imho lots of these are simply badge engineered volov engines, so yours will be just as quick and possibly nicer than similar ss/fline/Prin engined sportsboat.

No, I bought a Jeanneau Leader 805 Kad 43 diesel with 290 leg and not looked back at all. Got the first one in the Channel Islands and got a big discount as I did demos on it plus they took my old boat in P/ex and paid me what I had paid for it 18mnths before.

I would probably buy European boats over British any day as I have had much better service from them inc. day out from Jeanneau touring factory etc etc.

I liked the Sessa also but either too big or too small for what I was looking for at the time in price and size. Plus the Jeanneau is 9'9" wide which isnt bad for a 26' boat and has lots of style ( I think ).

Hope you enjoy it.
