bread recipe for pressure cooker!

Can anyone out there provide me with a pressure cooker receipe for making bread? I have looked on the internet and have managed to get some american ones but wondered if anyone has a foolproof recipe!!

i have one some where,when i find it ill post it but in the meen time i make bread in the fryingpan with a lid i use the flat bread recipt if you dont have that post and ill post it in turn

I cant find my recipe for pressure cooker bread i did it once i just made bread put it in a mold,put in a inch of water (tree inch deep mold) i made about a 300gramm (1/2LB) bread mix let it "hiss"for 10 mins , Result a white doey bread.

What i do all the time (when i cant get bread& and some time becouse i like it) i take about 250 gramms flour i disolve a packet of yeast in tepid water pinch of salt in the flour i also melt about 50 grams duck goose or chicken fat (if youve just cooked a foul if not butter or olive oil(mostly olive oil)I mix that in then add the yeast water the more water untill ist about sticky. I leave it for about 30 40 mins the pound it squeez it etc for about 5mins then leave it again for about 30 mins then i press it in to cricket ball size pieces flaten them in to small bread shape the put them in a frying pan which has a try 1/4 inch water then put the doe on a stand and steam it for twenty mins whent the steam stops i pour in some peanut oil and "fry it" (only a little oil) after two mins a side to crisp and brown it i drop a very small glass of water and steam cook it for about 2/3 mins result tasty bread

Youll be amazed just how much salt you need if its to taste like shop bread!!!

Easyier is a large biscut tin over the gas drop the bread in the hot tin (bit of oil on the bottem) the tin is on a stand or an asbestosor modern heat defuser cook for about 20 mins haypresto a super bread!!

Good luck, its really easy after a bit of trial and error

For a largeloaf;
2 teaspoons of dried yeast
1 1/2 lbs plain flour
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon dried milk powder
Knob butter/ marg or slurp oil
About 3/4 pint warm water

Mix all together, knead for about 10 mins
Grease inside of pressure cooker and trivet
Shake flour over grease
Put dough inside to rise - about 1-2 hours
(will fill half cooker when risen)

Put lid on pressure cooker DO NOT USE WEIGHTS
Put over a low heat for about 30 -40 mins
Turn out, turn over and put back upside down to brown other side for about 10 mins

Delicious! In fact you can use any heavy saucepan. I keep an old pressure cooker for bread as the seal will harden when used in this way. I used to make bread overnight as my husband couldn't keep his thieving mitts off the hot, crusty bread and it wouldn't last 5 minutes!

Frying pan bread

300gr plain flour
1 1/2tsp baking powder
salt
olive oil

Mix everything together with some water to make a softish dough. Make a flat pancake about 1 1/2 cm thick. Put a little olive oil in a frying pan. Heat. Put in dough, cook over a low heat for 10 minutes. Turn bread and cook for a further 10 minutes.

Variations:
1. Add herbs
2. Add chopped or sliced onions, garlic and olives
3. Add sultanas, sesame seeds, cinnamon or any other chosen sweet option.

This recipe came to me via Sarah Barford on 'Sifu' and Ellie on 'Nirwana'
It is great warm with sundowners or just as a treat on a rainy day (not that we get many of them here....)

Plain flour will do. Almost impossible to find strong white flour except UK
Plain flour makes a slightly lighter loaf.
You can also make sponge type cakes in a saucepan as long as you keep the heat low.

Following on from the recent thread about frying pan bread, and bored this evening, i tried Jeannes recipe.

Edit. From post 8.

Even the kids like it, and they are pathologically wedded to white plastic supermarket bread.

Instead of the frying pan i used a saucepan.

A few notes on baking bread.

Follow the recipe jeanne gave, and pay attention to some points.

All ingredients should be about the same temperature. The water hand warm.
Loosen up the flour, add yeast, then sugar, salt, water ( Or milk ) stirring all the time. Mix well, then knead. A chef told me once to knead until a sweat drop falls into the mix. Kneading is important. Add flour until the mix is no more sticky and you can pull small lumps out of the mix.
Let the mix rise for 30 minutes in a hand warm recipient, no cold air stream.
Knead again until the mix feels OK, ( can´t explain ) then let rise in the baking pan ( Hand warm ) for 30 minutes.
Put on a real hot fire for 5 minutes, then turn down the heat and bake for 30 minutes.
The lid on the pan should have a hole, the water vapor must be able to go. We use a thick walled allu cooking pan with a glass cover, the centre knob removed.
We put the pan 5 minutes on gas, then move to the wood burning stove.

Danger : self baked bread is addictive.
