What a great weekend!
We managed 14 Boats, first day was a simple trip from Bray to Hampton Court for an overnight stay, followed by a late morning cruise planning meeting at Tedders and a swift(ish) dash to Limehouse where we all managed to force our way through the rather exciting seasonal currents and into the Basin itself!
A couple of lovely warm days on terra firma, and a ringside seat on Limehouse bridge watching the poor Runners at 14 miles, and back we went!
Most pleased with NR on the tidal section, she cruises at nudging 8mph with the throttle nudged back out of kindness, and coped well in a slightly roly-poly manner in the choppy bits around Tower Bridge, but no worse than the modern Brooms!
My state of the art dipstick reckons 17 gallons for the 100 mile round trip, poor by Car standards, but close to 6mpg, or 0.85 Gal/Hr so relatively painless for a Boat weighing 6 tonnes...
Many happy times, will all be featured in the next edition of Bray Cruiser News
