Any suggestions as to the best/cheapest/easiest (London / Poole) place to get one to remove/fit the props?
Can I just get some sockets for a half inch drive torque wrench and if so what are the dimensions?
all suggestions welcomed

I've seen one on a yankee site, costs $66, must be available at Importers/Dealers of U.S.A Boats here, Mebbees a dealer will hire it to you? worth a try,.. a new prop nut is $30 btw!!! Regards Dave.

Standard answer #4 Steel Developments do prop spanners for various drives. They float as well, pity the prop nut don't! They have a web site at the usual address, which I'm not posting. Just to make things interesting. They're in london but will post it to Poole if you wish.

The smaller nut can be removed with a 36mm socket. The big nut needs the mercury tool, part number 91-805457 as it is about 72 mm and a big deep box socket. Took mine off two days ago. My local friendly Mercruiser agent lent me his.The big nut is very tight all the way ,you need a second pair of hands to hold a block of wood between prop and cavitation plate.

thank you one and all - anyone know the exact size of the inner nut - 50/60mm? Could I get an open spanner of the appropriate size on it?
The mercruiser spanner is around 100 (£!)
