Anyone used brass rather than bronze cleats? I’m mostly interested in how they weather, or acquire patina. They would be used for headsail sheets
The price difference is significant.
These ones seem very good value.

I have very similiar cleats but slightly smaller on my boom for reefing and the topsail downhaul. They weather well. The problem with these cleats is they are very unforgiving if you catch them with with hand/head. Have you considered making your own from timber, they are easy to make from offcuts, cost nothing ( if you have the timber) and dont bite. I have never had one fail. I prefer teak as easier to shape but all my halyard cleats are iroko.
