At long last the resurfacing work is underway on the access road into the marina. The job is being paid for by the Environment Agency whose heavy vehicles are deemed to have chewed up the road as they access the sea wall restoration project. It was a bit chaotic there this morning since I visited being unaware that the job was going to be on. I was able to park on the grass on the left of the access road and then walk through the yard to my boat.
I did see some road laying men getting very angry and were yelling at a Volvo driver who wanted to leave and declined to wait. He drove out over some newly laid and still soft asphalt leaving some nice grooves in the road. I was able to get off the grass directly onto the main road by asking an obliging driver to move his truck . Some advance notice of the job and provision of some temporary parking access from the main road would seem to be a missed opportunity.
The contractors were cracking on so I anticipate it will all be done today.
