Planning to go to Bradwell next weekend. Sat night in Green Man.

Sunday Walton HW is 0555 3.34m, LW 1210 1.25m. What is the depth like over the bar at the moment as I want to take a few folk out for a sail on Sunday morning and then drop them back to Bradwell before sailing back to Brightlingsea.

Peter, its just after the second orange buoy in from the cardinal where the entrance is the shallowest.

05:42 4.1m
11:56 1.4m
18:15 3.9m

00:23 1.7m
06:34 3.8m
12:57 1.6m
19:22 3.7m

I would be in on Sat 1430 onwards, out Sunday back 1000 after the sober-up sail, or back in on the rising tide, that in Mr.T at 1.9m. Mr.Sabre had at one time accurate depths, not sure if he still has.

There is a tide guage on the cardinal post at the end of the creek. You will lose 3 feet from that as you go up the creek past the middle cans. After that it gets deeper. If you can get up the creek then you can get in the marina. As it is very neaps then you could probably get in 3.5 maybe even 4 hours before HW. I wouldn't be so bold on a falling tide!

I never seem to get away with less than about £25.
Considerably more if you're eating.

Re the entrance depths, we walked out along the sea wall to the creek entrance on Saturday evening as it was an exceptionally low tide. All the withies were dried out, several of the orange buoys were close to, and there was a long drying bank between the second & third buoy in the actual channel. However there was water on the beach side of the channel. Having looked at it several times over last few weeks I think the channel has moved closer to the beach.
(I took several photographs, but being almost dark they aren't worth posting even after a good lot of brightness adjusting).
