Just spent the weekend at Haslar.

Gorgeous day yesterday, today though..............a Hoolie!!!!!!!

Left the Marina at 1930hrs, with the wind building all the time. Just looked on www.cowesharbourweather.com/weather, and that showed only(?) gusts of 37.5knts!!!!!! felt a lot more whilst driving along Lee-on-the-Solent sea front though.

Now that Tina and I are at home at Heybridge Basin, the wind feels more like 50 odd knts!!!!!!! Can anyone confirm how windy it is on the river Blackwater? And Haslar?

I went and checked six boats as I was requested to. A lot of cats cradles, but hey it's doing the job!!!!!!!!

Any body keeping an eye now that we have come home?

This was the last time it was just Tina and I on the boat!!! Seems ages ago now. Went out this weekend for an hour or so, just to shake the cob webs out. Last sail until end of Jan, when we sail her, Kindred Spirit, around to the Blackwater. Subject to weather!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Dunno about windy, but just heard that they had FOUR inches of rain yesterday in Wales. At that rate it won't be long before you can run aground on Snowdon.

That sounds about normal. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Boy is it windy-Here too!!!

A friend with a 33 foot Najad broke his boom yesterday. Fully reefed it broke where the vang strut fits the boom. Break was clean has if a saw went through it. Had a preventer on and was running down wind.

Met Eireann sea area forecast issued at 1800 monday 11 December.
Coast from Loop Head to Rossan Point to Carlingford Lough.

West to south west force 6 to gale force 8. Locally stronger gusts or squalls in showers. Increasing south west gale force 8 or strong gale force 9 later tonight or early tomorrow - possibly storm force 10 locally.
Veering west force 7 to strong gale 9 during the morning - strongest on northern coasts where there is continuing risk of storm force 10 occasionally.

Come to think of it that's a slight improvement
