Boxing Day races
Just a few hours ago we started the race ( I was on the rescue / start boat ) for the run down the Bay ( 30 miles) where yachts stay overnight before the Melbourne / Hobart ( for real men , not for the wimps who do the Sydney / Hobart and the Launceston races..) 84 starters in 28*C / mild 10/15 kts.. perfect conditions.
A Volvo 60 started, first time I have been up so close to them ...wow , impressive, however I would not want be in the Southern Ocean in one....
Now for a rum ... to drink a toast to all of you... who have had to put up with my weather reports from the world's most liveable city... Melbourne OZ
