Hi
I am thinking about fitting a bow thruster to my Moody 44. The question is which one i like the idea of the compact retract from Max power. Has anybody an opinion on the compact retract or should i just go with the tunnel type?
Thanks

Maurice - we have been thinking about a bow thruster on our M44 too. I looked at a retractable at the boat show and whilst I liked the idea in principle, I was unconvinced by the gaiter that over time will need replacing. The retractable was about 30% more expensive than the traditional tunnel type.

I'd be interested in your conclusions

cheers

Hi Simon
I havnt started to look at the specs etc but i think you might be right the rubber sealant to hold the water out might be a problem. Then the cost is somthing to be taken into consideration. The other thought i had was that it seemed to be more complecated with a motor to lower it before it started working. i may well go down the route of the standard type. What type and price where you looking at?
