Just been sent some large stickers which the SIs require me to display on either side of the bow - I don't really want to stick them to the boat at this time of year, in 6 weeks time they will be really well attached. Any clever suggestions? - we thought of sticking them to some ripstop and lashing them to the pulpit while racing.

(1) Lashing panels of ripstops to your bow area - assuming that the sponsors allow it, which I doubt - would not last for long. I don't know where your race is, nor how fast your boat goes, but if there's more than a little breeze, the wind and the waves will do their best to remove the panels; they would succeed in a very short time.

(2) to remove remaining goo, try a rag that has been dipped in diesel and rub gently in a circular motion. Wash off afterwards with soapy water. Try not to drip into the water; ideally you should do it when hauled out. It works and, unless your gel coat is badly chalked, will not leave a stain.

anyone know a good way to get the glue residue off after getting the stickers off

[/ QUOTE ] I use "Sticky Stuff Remover" and find it excellent. Ours came from Bettaware or Kleeneze but Lakeland and decent hardware shops have it.

IMHO no household should be without it in with the other cleaning potions.

For the hamble winter series the race committee allowed them to be displayed on the boom.

We've always tried to stick them on somewhat "halfarsed" to make them easier to remove. Lots of bubbles seems to make it easier!
