It was with great saddest that the news that the BD had sunk taking the lost seaman and boy with it.
The small island Herøy, not 20NM from here Ålesund, is a very small community. The harbour from which the boy and his father come from, Fosnavåg, I know well. I fact brought my boat from there.
The whole tragic event has been devarstating for this small island and the local area.
My brother-in-law left for Bergen to start a 28day tour on a similar supply boat, last Saturday.
My father-in-law, a few years ago worked on a similar supply ship and they ran into a similar problem, which, is believe to have cause the capsize. He was more luck.

Frank,
Like everybody else, I'm sure, I was shocked to hear the news. A ghastly reminder of how a routine task when it goes wrong at sea can have such dire consequences and how things can go wrong so quickly.
My thoughts are with the families.
Chris

This has been a major news item here from the time it happened and I, along with much of the UK public, have struggled to understand how this could happen to such a modern purpose built ship.

I can only imagine the mood and feelings in that tiny community. Very sad. My heart goes out to them all.
