Bought a boat....

Hiya All,

After at least a couple of years of dumb questions and reading just about every post put on here I have taken the plunge and bought something..... Of course, it was nothing that anyone ever recommended or in fact that I had considered prior to buying..... But I suspect such is the way with these things.....

So from tomorrow, I will be the co-owner of a Hunter 707. In the end the draw of racing just won over in the end.

So, I guess this will mean at least another two years of dumb questions and reading every post on the forum........

Thanks for the good wishes....

She will end up on the Thames but probably campaigned around Medway and Burnham. i know there is a fleet of them at Burnham to play with and we enjoy the racing at Medway. But a quick spruce up beforehand.

I'd recommend starting a boat blog - after a couple of years of ownership it's nice to look back at what you've done and how you did it. You'd be amazed at the number of people who read them as well - mine gets hundreds of visitors a month for some reason!

I think you'll have fun on that thing - I've never sailed one, but they look like nice machines. And BTW, you're ahead of me - I've been ere 3.5 yrs, and I've not got a boat yet...

Well, the blog would start interestingly. Today the boat was delivered professionally by road..... However...... Turning into the yacht club the trailer was collided with heavily by a boy racer driving at some serious speed coming in the opposite direction. He managed to impact one of the wheels tearing this off in the process and damaging the trailer considerably. Ironically he was just leaving a trailer driving course.... But didn't learn much..... Hopefully the boat isn't damaged... Will inspect tomorrow......

The boat and trailer arrived by trolley jack the last part of the way...

If the rudder hadn't been taken off the whole thing would have been written off. The car past mosly under aft end of the boat narrowly missing....

Beware of ford focus' wearing body kits... The car looks a write off!

If the driver had been killed, at least his brain wouldn't have been effected...
