Hiya, I'm a newbie and I've bought a 1991 maxum 2700csr. It's in great condition and I'm getting to know it now. I would love a manual for it as it was lost by the previous owner. Does anyone know where I can obtain one, or a copy, please?:D:D

I will go and scan the forum now and find out what everyone says about maxum boats.

Regards, Barry

There might not be much in the manual you need !
Apart from the hull, everything on the boat was probably made by someone else; feel free to ask if you cant work out how to get something to work ;)

I will go and scan the forum now and find out what everyone says about maxum boats.

Everybody who owns one will sing its praises and everybody else will slag 'em off, regardless of whether or not they know anything about them! :)

Joking apart, they always seem well put together and I don't recall reading any negative posts on here. That's probably because they're part of Brunswick, who are a huge US corporation who build literally thousands of boats like this, albeit under various brand names, each year, so they should have got it right by now :D

As already mentioned, it's more of an assembly job than a manufacturing one, but it's probably still worth getting a copy of the owner's manual, if only so that you have a wiring diagram.

Hope you carry on enjoying the boat.

Try the UK dealer, or failing that, mail Maxum in the US

Maxum themselves are no longer in production and so you'll struggle to find anyone in the UK actively supporting old ones.
You may be lucky enough to google search a manual in PDF or similar format.

But, as said, you don't really need a manual for the boat.
Basic wiring and plumbing will be pretty straight forward with simple knowledge of 12V and DIY.
The engine manual may be more useful and, assuming it is a Mercruiser then you should be able to find out loads via Barrus or again online. If contacting Barrus, have the engine number to hand as this will help them.

PS

There's a Maxum Owner's Club in the US and they have a forum, so it might be worth asking the same question on there.

I got really excited for a minute, because there's also a download section, with owners' manuals on it. However (1) The earliest downloads stem from 1992 and (2) they don't include the 2700 SCR. There is a 2700 SCR manual dating from 2000, available here, but I suspect it's a later model with the same name. You might want to have a shufti, nevertheless.

Hey Guys and Galls, thanks for all the answers. I'll sit and read 'em all and take any info with pleasure. I do understand that at 1991 there will be very little left about the boat. It seems to be a well built beast and zooms along over the sea with no slapping or banging on the waves. Yes it has a standard Mercruiser and I intend to look for the engine manual for servicing etc. I'll let you know what I've found, but in the meantime, thanks for the help so far.

Got to try anchoring and doin' a bit of fishing now!!!!!!

Cheers, Barry.
