We are looking for somewhere to haul out and store our boat at the Bordeaux end of the Canal de Midi. We won't be aboard generally but would like to be able to stay on her when working for a couple of weeks. Any ideas welcomed.

The place is called Basin a flot . On your left before you get to the big bridge but after the bridge with the arches. You have to go through a lock to get into the basin. Moorings are bows or stern to the dock. You need a long line to the bouy. The charges are very low. The Capitan de port's office is on the left as you enter the basin. There is a good crane out service, an excellent marine engine mechanic co, a good chandlers, even a macdonalds. And there's a good bus service into Bordeax centre. No facilities such as showers and toilets though, and water and electricity, although available, are not easy to get at.
