The boom on my 1971 Offshore 8m has a small cast fitting riveted to the front of the boom (on top) to enable the foot of the sail to be clipped to the front of the boom - effectively it is a ring on a plate. When hoisting the mainsail on Sunday, the fitting snapped (my wife obviously doesn't know her own strength!). Fortunately I was able to lash the sail to the boom and then have a highly enjoyable beat back from Chichester to Haslar in a beautiful sunset :-) However, does anyone know where I might get a replacement fitting - or something that would perform the same job?

Regards

Neil

I would give these guys a try;

http://www.zsparsuk.com/

When the cast aluminium goose neck fitting on my 1984 (french) mast needed replacing I wasn't confident about finding one (original mast company long since disappeared). Fear not said he, for these guys had one on the shelf, and I received it via post in 3 days flat!

Also very helpful and friendly to deal with.
