Who books a berth and have you ever cancelled it ?

On busy Bank Holidays I find it a pain and restrictive to book a berth and find we can be covering a lot of miles to get a place not always where we first intended to go.

There have been times when we have been out in 6-7 winds , hardly seen another boat out and still had problems finding a berth.

I guess many berths are pre booked and then people dont turn up ?

Can't answer your poll its just too complicated /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I've only ever booked a berth if staying for more than a few days (well weeks in fact), but surely the whole idea of boating is the freedom, if I have to book a berth somewhere I don't go there.

I know what you are saying about freedom, but you must be missing out on some superb places if you refuse to ever book. there are places where if you can't get in on spec you are completely snookered as there is nowhere else to go for miles. also agree the poll is a bit flawed - sorry daka
