The transom is coming away from the tubes on my AX3.
I tried to repair it with inflatable boat adhesive, but it came apart again the second time I used it. I have just bought two-part PVC glue and will try that, other than get all the old glue off and really clean, any other advice? Is it better to repair it inflated? Or deflated? It takes quite a lot of pressure to hold the moulded rubber against the inflated tube, if it was deflated it could be clamped into position, but if there is expansion when inflated would this weaken the bond?

G'day Graham,

Tip Top make a glue called FC 1000, I have used this a number of times with very good results, just wipe the area clean with a compatible solvent and apply the first coat, when almost all the tack has gone apply a second coat and wait till it's very tacky, then very carefully put the two surfaces together, take care because stuff sticks on contact. Also avoid applying glue outside the joint, it's black and will show, very difficult to remove when cured.

Should be no problem doing this with it deflated, at will all stretch at about the same rate when inflated.

Avagoodweekend......
