hi all, just come back from another cracking weekend in sunny wales.
still tryin to get the transom height right on my aerotec.
started at the beginning of the season by raising the transom with a 25mm block of wood, which was slightly better at reducing the amount of water splashing over the transom.
i am now upto 35mm and its a bit better again but not perfect.
my question is - " have any of you aerotec owners out there put more than a 35mm block on the transom to raise the height and eliminate the dreaded splash back".
gettin bored now takin transom plate off and putting it back on.
somebody out there must know the ideal height for best performance, please !!!!!!
outboard is a tohatsu 18hp 2 stroke.
never had any probs with my honwave/mariner 15hp combo.

oh, and one other question (sorry) does anyone know where i can get the bottom stainless steel stud on the transom that holds the launching wheels in place, we lost it at weekend and it was an absolute pain tryin to get it up the slipway without damaging the transom. good job there was four of us there this weekend. its the small stainless steel stud highlighted in pic 3

My Zodiac lost one of the stainless pins and has worked 100% fine with a pan head bolt and nut/washer front and back.

I use the wheels as a landing craft, letting the OB push us dry , pull the kill cord as we leap out onto the dry beach before the next wave crashes over the stern.
