Over in the 'is Chi marina the best place ever' thread (no 1329767), the cost of a lift out, wash off and re-launch came up and I was shocked.

How much do you pay, if and when you have one, to have your bottom hosed? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Prices per meter so as to take boat size out of the equation.

I pay a total of £70.00 for lift, pressure wash, and re-launch, but that is in a friend's private little yard! I won't tell you what I pay for the winter storage inside a barn - it would be unkind! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It would cost £70, but with decent antifouling it isn't necessary! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I pay nothing to park the boat on the beach, wait for the tide to go out, scrub as the last of the water disappears, check the anodes, then sit in the sun for a few hours. Oh, we do usually go and buy fish and chips at some stage so I suppose the job actually costs us about 6 quid. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thant's where I am going wrong, I am forgetting to paint the anodes /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

AT Titchmarsh marina at Walton you can still dry out on the slip, there is power and water for you to organise your own pressure wash, and do your own anti foul, price last year was £10, more than reasonable?

This does sound a bit like having a garage look after your car for you, doesn't it? 'Top up the oil for me my good man' /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm amazed, and not a little jealous, that anyone can consider paying someone else to hose off their boat for them!

Guess I'm in the wrong job. (sigh) /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

For 34' ....£740 for lift out/in and pressure wash (all including VAT).

Oh.. also throw in 6 months free storage.

Its not the hosing off, that is just part of the lift process, they probably say that its included free, but I have to get mine lifted out to change the anodes, which I do myself.

I have found somewhere cheaper now thankfully.

I tie up on the Harbour wall (£25 - 40') and wait for the tide to go out. My jet wash, but the power and water are free. Two of us can scrub, change anodes, clean the beasties off the prop and shaft - and get 1.5 coats of A/F on before the waters ankle deep.

I pay £105ish for lift scrub and drop on the trailer. That's for a 21ft but there's a minimum 25ft charge - I suppose the lift bit costs them as much for a tidder as for a big one but there's a lot less scrub! Well known Christchurch yard.

Nowt!. I dry out on my yard slip, use free electricity to power my own pressure washer for half an hour then lie in cockpit and wait for tide.
