To while away some of my "isolation time" I have resurrected my amateur radio base station and antennae, now trawling around the airwaves for some interest rather than just chat and contacts. Can anyone recommend any nets or contacts where sailing/boaty subjects are the main topic? Usual HF/VHF/UHF bands including 6m, unfortunately no amps or large aerials at my end (hoping the HF loop can improve things when sorted!)

Not aware of any such nets on ham bands as these would not really come under license conditions, other nets are normally between radio clubs. HF nets are difficult at the best of times especially within UK, I operate HF from boat sometimes and only have had one other contact that was MM and this was during international lighthouse on air weekend, this is normally in August though.

Don't think there's much if anything marine around Europe though ISTR something med based around 14300. Quite a few SSB & Ham sailing nets further afield which google will find.

The UK maritime mobile net used to be on 14.303 (at 1800Z I think) , and the Transatlantic net on 21.400 (at 1300Z), but I am not sure if either of them are still functioning now, as the net controllers that I used to know are now silent keys (ie they have crossed the bar).
