Have got the boat out at the moment, have antifouled and now want to give the GRP a good wash and polish. I've decided on a teflon based polish, finished with an electric polisher, but any recommendations for a good recipe/product for washing would be appreciated. Many Thanks

Would recommend using this to get rid of all the ingrained dirt, it's a very fine cutting liquid that has always served me well. Others on here have recommended the 3M teflon polish in the past although I have no personal experience of it.

You seem to have picked the right time to be out of the water, just hope the rain doesn't stop the cleaning!!

Try that polish that has the white colour in it, i think its made by Turtle WaX from an auto shop, gives a good shine and puts back the colour, it worked on mine and is even cheaper than Mer.

Re: Starbrite with Teflon

Always worked well for me and I'm sticking with it, well actually slippery, slidey and shiney with it, but you know what I mean.

Tried the 3M GRP restorer earlier in the year and that was pretty good too. Almost as good as Wipeout and only twice the price.

Haydn,

If you put it on with drill, there's not enough to keep a shine, you have to coat it about 3 times, if you do it by hand it lasts years.
