Have a Cranchi CSL 27 in Sardinia. Only use it for 3 weeks a year but couldn't be without it.
Considering advertising a boatshare. Anyone got any advice, is it more hassle than it's worth?
It's only probably worth £20k now so i'm not too worried about wear and tear or it being over used. I guess as the "sharer" co-owns the boat he'll look after it and I have to say, halving the annual costs sounds pretty tempting.

For me it would have to be a 'needs must' basis. Perhaps I am a bit pessimistic but sharing anything mechanical or valuable can lead to unwanted outcomes. For me clarity on arrangements through some form of documented agreement would be a must and would genuinely benefit both parties. Just my take - others with experience of sharing a boat will be along soon I am sure

You can bareboat charter something that size, so why not save yourself money and hassle and just charter for the 3 weeks.

Have looked at that - only found Ribs with 40hp for charter - anything bigger comes with a skipper and costs to match. I actually run the boat very cheaply so I only need to use it about 6 times a year to make owning viable (excluding depreciation).

I would happily bareboat charte my boat out if there was a company that offered that service.
