There are sometimes terrible choices for owners, during a tsunami warning do you watch your boat being smashed to bits in port from a safe vantage point. Or do you put to sea to ride it out?‍

Also there will be no rescue service. They will all be too busy

I would think a lot less than 5-6m in 100m, from what I understand, but who would want to find out. It would be an anxious voyage heading out to sea…..

The boats which ran out from a Thai marina (thanks to someone which sounded the alarm) during the 05 Indonesian Tsunami all got saved.
A Tsunami wave gets more energy the more the wave comes inshore and the sea shallower.
