As someone who has recently surfaced from total immersion in Genes Re-united (I know, I should get out more, but the engine was being re-built and I was bored - found lots of relatives though), then Cars Re-united in search of my first Beetle, and now more recently with Guns Re-united (all because of eldest daughter's new boyfriend - it's a long story!)I did wonder whether there would be any appetite amongst Forumites for a Boats Re-united scheme/scam. Or perhaps the curiosity we have about boats we have once loved is more to do with whether or not they are still afloat after all our modifications, and we would be better keeping our heads down in case they are not.

This may be met with raging apathy, but if there is sufficient interest, perhaps we could prevail upon Kim to comment on it's feasibilty. Of course I may be a bit late with the idea and it may already exist.

Great idea but would take a bit of setting up, I think. I'd love to know what happened to the various boats I've had over the years. Probably sunk

I'm thinking of buying an Ent, if anyone could direct me to 'boats re-united' I would love top buy my father in laws old Ent which is named after his daughter, my better half.

Funny....

This has already happened to me twice.

The owner of our last boat and his wife came out to greece with us two years ago for a week on our current boat.

The owner of the boat before that contacted me after a friend who is a member of their class association noticed "Wild Venture" in a club mag.

They came over last weekend and were re-united with the wind generator I took off the boat before selling it to the intervening owner some eleven years ago. The boat, now kept on Rutland Water needed some means of battery re-charging as IC motors aren't allowed on Leicestershire's water supply.

Fascinating idea: who's going to run it?
