We are now boatless having sold ours a couple of months ago and keen to get a new (for me) boat.
Has anyone in a similar position noticed that the big web sites don't really work very well? For example one has a drop down list to choose which country you want to search for a boat. I pick UK only. The results are for boats everywhere in the world!! There are other examples such as the one site that presents the results with say 12 boats shown at a time. So I look down, don't see any and go on to the next page from the numbers presented at the foot and so until you spot an interesting boat. Click on it and then decide to go back and lo and behold the site takes you back to the very beginning and you have to start over.
Another useful thing I have not spotted anywhere is a site that has a boats wanted section.
So if anyone is thinking about flogging their boat and have something the lines of the following spec then please feel free to PM me.
40 - 47ft
Probably from one of the big builders i.e. we like AWB's. (hard hat going on!)
Ideally newer than 2004 but condition is the obviously the main thing
2 steering wheels preferably
Must be privately owned from new i.e. not ex charter.
Budget? Around £100K.
I am thinking along the lines of a Beneteau 473, or something similar from Jeanneau. Elan 434 with the single aft cabin looks nice. In fact anything with a nice aft cabin would be attractive.
Cheers folks.
