I am looking at buying my first yacht. Being a single man the type of boat is very important as every type of boat will attract a different class of lady. So what type of woman can I expect the following boats will attract?

Bavaria
Beneteau
Dufour
Ovni
X Yacht

to name but a few.

I suppose the big question is, what boat would attract a long legged, beauty who isn't afraid to get a bit dirty?

If we knew the answer to that one we would have something better to do than sit in front of a computer! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

It's not nice to have a go at his personal hygiene like that, although you will have more luck with the odd hot shower.

I agree with giraffehappy, it's not the boat but who's on it that matters. I've met women happily sailing with a man on a 26-foot Folkboat and others who are not happy with one who has a 50-footer with a bathtub.
My guess is that the boats you list will attract women who don't know how to sail and are not likely to want to get dirty since it'll mess up their hair and nails.

well done Stella girl my sentiments entirely.

rather than concentrating on what boat to buy if thats what he needs to attract women then maybe he should concentrate on his social skills too

Well it does help if he is

1] tall at least 6ft
2] a trim figure, no extra buoyancy tires.
3] wider in the shoulders than the waist.
4] decently cut hair, solar panels do not matter.
5]a 4 pack or 6 pack stomach
6] fit ish but not too fit
7] can start sentences with things other than "I am wonderfully at .........."

The boat
1]must be clean
2]floats.

If you think that any kind of boat will make you irresistably attractive to luscious, long-legged totty, then you are even more deluded than me. However, if you must, jhr Market Research inc. has concluded that you will tend to find the following types attracted to the boats you mention.

<ul type="square"> Bavaria: Statuesque lederhosen-clad Rhine Maidens. Handy on deck, but watch out for the Valkyrie (believed to be a fohn-effect wind), which may whip up when they’re around.

Beneteau: Insouciant gallic types, imbued with quintessential French chic, sexiness and je-ne-sais-quoi. There is a sub-group, given to muttering in an impenetrable Caledonian argot, who are great admirers of eccentric headgear when worn by a man, but they may be disregarded for all practical purposes.

Dufour: Literal translation: “of the Oven”. History does not relate whether this means that they are red-hot and ready to be devoured on the saloon table, or just that they are a bit crinkly around the edges. To await further research.

Ovni: Little is known about the kind of women attracted to owners of these craft. It has been suggested that the possession of a lifting keel means that owners can “get in anywhere” but I suspect this refers to shallow water, rather than anything more interesting. Aluminium construction suggests that it would be best not to risk the old “…..could you reach down and pick up the coin I’ve just dropped?” gambit, in case a mislaid penny leads to corrosion problems.

X-Yacht: Prognosis is mixed. Research suggests that an X-Yacht (or the proceeds of sale thereof) usually ends up as the property of an X-wife. This procedure is normally followed by the purchase of a more modest craft, such as an Enterprise or Mirror, and rather more limited horizons. However, every cloud has a silver lining and the possession of such a boat may attract wholesome, outdoor types, with healthy appetites and finely-honed bodies, so perhaps it’s the way to go. [/list]

Hope this helps.

Hmmm... Managed to attract just such a stunning long legged beauty, but still spend half my time in front of the computer screen.
