Boating mafia\'s \"10 Commandments\"?
Saw this article on the BBC news site:

and thought that if the Mafia have a 10 Commandments, surely we should also?

The Mafia's "Ten Commandments" Vs. The Sailors “Ten Commandments”
MAFIA 1. No-one can present himself directly to another of our friends. There must be a third person to do it.
SAILORS1. No-one, when crewing for one skipper, can present himself directly to another skipper of a bigger & better boat in the hope of being able to dump their original skipper.
MAFIA2. Never look at the wives of friends.
SAILORS2. Never look at the boats of friends in a covetous manner.
MAFIA3. Never be seen with cops.
SAILORS3. Never be seen fraternising with Customs & Excise officers.
MAFIA4. Don't go to pubs and clubs.
SAILORS4. Don’t fail to go to every pub & sailing club wherever you moor up.
MAFIA5. Always being available for Cosa Nostra is a duty - even if your wife's about to give birth.
SAILORS5. Always be available for a jaunt on the water when invited. It’s your duty – even if your wife is about to give birth.
MAFIA6. Appointments must absolutely be respected.
SAILORS6. Tides must absolutely be respected. Never be the cause for missing one.
MAFIA7. Wives must be treated with respect.
SAILORS7. Wives must be treated with nearly as much respect as your boat.
MAFIA8. When asked for any information, the answer must be the truth.
SAILORS8. When asked for any information on Scuttlebutt, the answer must be the truth and not lead your fellow sailor astray.
MAFIA9. Money cannot be appropriated if it belongs to others or to other families.
SAILORS9. Boats cannot be appropriated if they belong to others or to other families.
MAFIA10. People who can't be part of Cosa Nostra: anyone who has a close relative in the police, anyone with a two-timing relative in the family, anyone who behaves badly and doesn't hold to moral values.
SAILORS 10. People who can’t be part of the sailing fraternity: anyone who fails to behave badly on a run ashore and who holds to moral values which impinge on fun ashore or afloat.
