Not sure why one shouldn't laugh......folks standing around in the vicinity would sure as hell laugh at me if I did something like that!!!!!!!!!!

Always wondered why there's someone with a vidcam there when that sort of thing happens. Set-up? Surely not.

There isn't always, it's just that some people video everything they see.
As proof that funny accidents don't just happen on film:
I've been punting with a certain friend twice. The first time, after pushing away from the bank with his hand, he had his feet on the boat, and hands on the bank, as the two slowly got further apart.
Second time, I thought i could use the pole to vault over an over hanging branch, and land back in the punt (I couldn't).
As proof that funny accidents don't just happen on film:

I'm just glad there was no-one about with a video camera when I went to step off a charter yacht at Mylor to tie up and managed to get the back of my smock caught on a stantion top. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Some of those accidents would have hurt like hell. I don't think there were any set-ups.

Video cameras are ubiquitous these days especially with mobile phones doing the job as well. My guess is that if you went anywhere there are boats and lots of people in the Summer you would stand a good chance of capturing something amusing. Don't know anyone who mucks about on boats who hasn't some story to tell.
