Hi.
Yes Dave Woolf brought a boat down from Wales (Holyhead) to Hayling Island
just before Christmas. He gave me a split load deal and he was efficient and on time at both ends and helped with the transfers.
I would use him again.

There are several firms in this market and it will be well worth your time to contact them all. If you can give them as much notice as possible and perhaps be flexible with the dates you may be able to get a deal where you are the load out prior to them bringing someone back and that should reduce the cost quite a bit.

Did contact D.W. myself, got a quote which I wanted to accept and when I sent a fax asking how he wanted paying never heard any more.

Just a suggestion. Find a company that delivers boats in the opposite direction. Then you can negotiate something so that they don't go home empty. I did this in bringing my boat to Britanny from the Med and it worked out about half the normal price.

For France their are three main transport companies, called, offhand
Morlin,
Augizeau
and another one beginning with the letter M (Morineau???)

All seem to be equally good. You only have to sail to a Northern French port and get picked up

I took my 28 footer from Calais with Morlin to the South of France for under 1000 pounds including the insurance, TGV train fare thru France and overnite hotel in Hyeres.

Just look up yacht transport on the internet. If you have a problem let me know at

Where are you going to in the Med?
I'm getting quotes at the moment from Med (Cannes) to UK.
How much have you been quoted? and would David be intersted in doing a return trip?
I am waiting for a price from Dockwise - drive boat straight onto a bigger boat in Toulon drive off in Northern France, only one problem thats not until June.

PM me with details if your interested.
