Potential new purchase located in Devon and am looked to get it transported back to Hampshire. 30ft and 4000kgs so no chance of towing it. Has anyone used a HIAB truck or low loader service in this area that they can recommend?

Thanks.

We used Southwest Boat Transportation last year. Really good service, helpful and sensible price. Contact Mike Whelan on 01752 687700 or see their website at http://www.boat-transportation.co.uk/

They are based in Plymouth, but travel all over. They moved our boat back from South of France.

No connection other than a happy customer.

I went from Hampshire to Torbay last week. Try to match up with someone going the other way and save yourself a few £££s

I used http://www.andersonsboattransport.com - call Lindsey on 07802 767 650. I found him really good / helpful.

John @ Seaways did the lift into Torquay, and seemed great too. He has a his own transport too as stated above, and seemed like a decent bloke.

A short film of it here ... https://youtu.be/7Nxg0gEaK9E

I have to say that boat transport, generally seems to be one of the marine services that offers a high rate of customer satisfaction, I'm not aware of many complaints with having boats moved, a rare thing in the industry.

We have had 2 boats moved in the last few years, Beverly transport were used for one and Davlyn transport most recently, both were excellent, did the job superbly well, no issues and both are worthy of recommendation.

There was a CCTV linked to here by a forumite re a Transport Co moving his boat. (I won't name as this might get pulled.)
Substantial damage to his boat and to vehicles en route.

+1 Moved me and very happy with their service.

Quotes have varied from £625 + VAT (BoatTransport.co.uk) to over £1k (Southwest Boat Transportation) with two companies not replying. Torbay Seaways were in the middle at £800 + VAT.

I'll see how the seatrial goes and update if I go ahead. There's the option to bring her back on the water but that's weather dependent. Thanks again.
