Boat Trailer Storage Box

On this forum not too long ago someone had a photo of their boat on a trailer.What struck me was that attatched to the trailer was a large metal storage box with lid, at least 1 meter wide. Considering the amount of clutter I carry in the back of my car to do with the trailer, wheel clamp, straps, trolley jack, etc., I wonder if these boxes are readily available or was it something that someone had made made. Certainly any extra storage which would create space in the back of my car would be an advantage. Thoughts anyone.

Sounds like a 'site box'. You can buy them from tool suppliers. Maybe Screwfix sells them.

I looked at one of these, but came to the conclusion that it was very likely to be broken in to.

They are called 'Lorry Boxes' or 'Waggon Boxes', loads of choice if you google. I liked this one:

Why not an old ammunition box from Army Surplus, bolt it to the rails and put a big lock on it.
