Just a Q as I have noticed that one of my Boat Trailer hubs appears to show Moulton grease flowing out of the Hub due to, I assume, the very high temperatures experienced lately, as this Hum has been in direct sunlight virtually all day.

So my Q, should this happen, have the bearing Waterproof but not High Temperature grease in them. NB the grease was put in by a local Big Boat Chandler and appears white in colour

Thank you

I think if it gets hot, it's broken already.
Are we talking about a braked hub, which might reasonably get warmed by the braking?

There are many different sorts of grease.
For preference, fo r a trailer that goes in the water, I would use something like Lucas red'n'tacky

But any grease applied when needed is a lot better than no grease.

Other than perhaps for short local low speed journeys the wheel bearings of a road trailer should be greased with a high melting point grade 2 grease, suitable for wheel bearings.

Look at the range of Ramonol Marine greases. They are stocked by most decent chandlers. ( Ramonol white grease is sold as the replacement for the old favourite Duckhams Keenol but is not suitable for trailer wheel bearings )

Ramonol Universal grease would be the one to use for boat trailer wheel bearings https://www.gruebb.com/controlpanel/shoppics/pdfs/GruebbRamonolUniversalTDS2016pdf.pdf
