I have a Boat in the south of Spain. I am thinking of bringing it back to Ireland, I think that the best bet is to truck it up either the whole way, as far as the south coast of the uk, or the north coast of France. and then sail it from there.

Is there anyone out there thinking of bringing a boat down to the med that would form a return load??. Or have a contact that brings boats from France to south of Spain and would be interested in a return load.

I am not interested in having it sailed back at this time of year. I have asked some haulage contractors for quotes but I expect huge prices.

Thanks in advance.

Nothing wrong with sailing it back if you've the time and carefully watch the weather! This was discussed quite recently on another thread. Will also work out lot cheaper than trucking, even if you put it in hands of a delivery team. What boat is she and where situated?

Thanks for the advice. I know it is possible but ,as per my post, I am not interested.

I believe the cons outweigh the pros of sailing a boat that distance at this time of the year.

I think the main ones like the followinghave web sites and a phone call is also good - someone there always speeks english.

ask for Christine - I have found them excellent -

You would probably need to be at the north french port to get her splashed and put in a berth. The same may be true at the Spanish loading end although a driver did the entire operation - lift - mast down etc for me one time out of Spain - you would need to talk to the Spanish marina... and the hauliers...
