Hi Forum.

Please can anyone advise me of a good, non subscription, website where I can offer use of my boat in exchange for use of another. My boat is in Greece and it is available in July and August. I am looking for someone with a boat in Caribbean or somewhere else warm in Jan/Feb.

Thanks

HI,
ours is on the Tamar: warm, dry and pretty empty sea in those months. Do you want to swap? ... and by the way we might be pretty local to you /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Seriously: good luck. I'd like to find out if it is possible to arrange a swap with someone sometime. Let me know how you get on.

Might be worth trying an add in the personals colum of YM or I thing the cruising association has a web site for this type of thing (they definatly do crew exchange recruitment) but dont know if its members only

Re: Wouldn\'t we all

no Charles - not everyone!

SWMBO was so incenced with the poor weather on the SCoast last August (when she had her holiday as opossed to the earlier nice stuff) that she has insisted on a family med holiday in August 2007............. so I will be leaving my (sdmittedly smallish power) boat on it's pontoon in Poole and paying Sunsail/Setsail a small fortune for a SO or similar and some flights............. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You may well be right that we won't do it again though!

Go to www.yachtingswap.com which is a free service at present. We are swapping with a guy in New Zealand,we are having his boat in January for two weeks and he is having ours in Sardinia in April/May. Having been e-mailing him over the last 4 months we think we have the measure of him but a good deal of trust is required on both sides....
