Boat Surveyor and Engine Tester for the West Coast of Scotland?

I'm going to need a boat surveyed and more importantly the engines checked (Volvo D4 Shafts) fairly soon (not fully decided yet) and wanted to get some recommendations in the West Coast of Scotland. Boat in Kip but if not this one then will be in the same area for the next one. Any recommendations ?

Thanks I'll give him a call. The engines are 10 years old and I'd want an assessment on them and oil checked etc, did they do that for you as well as the survey?

No, I got a local guy on Loch Lomond to check out the engine. There must be engineers at Kip who can help, if not try DDZ at Largs.

If its Volvo, DDZ or, if you call into the dive shop next to the chandlery at Largs and find the guy who looks like Father Christmas, he was a Volvo engineer and is very good. Boat Survey, Jim Abernethy at Murray Cormack, there is a local surveyor called Mike ---- I would avoid.
