Boat survey

It seems that my insurers may require a survey, my boat is a 25' MG Spring, any ideas of cost,or recomendations, Im not planning to sell so really want as cheap as possible to keep insurer happy! The boat is in Chichester Harbour and I would hope to dry out at Itchenor to keep cost down.

Try changing ins company,there are many that will cover you without a survey,as long as you are happy that the boat is seaworthy.

I have been with GJW for nearly 6 years and they have asked for an updated survey by 2010.

I know that it doesn't specifically address your question about a surveyor, but changing insurers may be cheaper, as others have said. I've been with Craftinsure for some time and they've never asked for a survey. They're also very competitive - may be worth trying their on-line quote facility.

I am with craft insure and in the policy decleration it states a boat over 20 years old and over23' needs a survey under 3 years old /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
