Navonics app for my iPhone

The £15 Navonics application for my iPhone was a fantastic bargain and incredibly useful. So much so that I'm almost convinced that a change from charts + Yeoman to a fully electronic solution is definitely on the cards. Where to fix it:-)

I can't praise the Navonics application enough. The first use in anger was navigating in fog though a tight channel with a strong cross-tide.

10/10 for that, but 11/10 when considering the price!

Bit silly but: Best bang for buck--£9.99 fan heater from Robert Dyas, great boost to winter productivity and on board jobs..

In the 'spend to save' dept, a half decent sewing machine and electric heat cutter tool.

In the 'bit boring' dept, a decent secondhand Avon instead of the airdeck pvc bells-and-whistles jobby that came new with the boat.

But best of all, really . A square 'boaty' frying pan is joint winner with good LED head torches/

I'll second the Boatie frying pan. We have bought three of them, one as a gift for someone, one for the boat and one for home use. The best price I found for them was from Flint's Theatrical Chandlers Ltd

The other best buy was a lead sash weight (for drudging).
