I am about to install a Fusion iPod Stereo system.

The instructions say to ensure that a 15amp fuse is installed which i will do and intend to wire the unit back direct to the battery to keep memory settings etc live so would make this an in line fuse.

My question is what cable size should I use over say an 8 metre run of cable.

Specifications of the unit are attached.

Thank you.

The system will consume less than 2A most of the time. The amplifier needs to be capable of providing much higher power for very short bursts, but most of this extra power will be will be provided by capacitors.
If you mean 4 m back and return giving 8m total a 2mm sq cable will give less than 3% voltage drop @ 2A, and will cope with a maximum current of 20A so is just acceptable for the fuse rating. As always larger is better an hi fi systems do have a very dynamic power requirements. The fusion units are good quality and will sound slightly better if you can increase the wire size so I would use 6 mm sq if you can fit this easily.
