I wonder if anyone has any thoughts about this. We've just put our Moody 31 back in the water. During the winter we replaced our old stern gland with a lip seal (wich seems to work great - no water comes in!) During this the yard says they realigned the prop-shaft by 4 degree as it was not running straight in the tube.
However we've now noticed that the stern of the boat seems to squat down more than it used to: previously the top of our sugar-scoop stern would sit about and inch or 2 above the water as we motored; now its about 1 inch below. When we sail without the engine we sit as before (2 inches above).
What do people think? Has the yard altered the angle of attack incorrectly, pushing the stern down? Or should it have been like it is now in the first place??
Thanks!
